Kokanee (Silver Trout)
Kokanee salmon, also known as silver trout, are a landlocked form of sockeye salmon. They have a greenish-blue to silver back with faint speckling, and their sides and belly are silvery without distinct spotting. During the fall spawning season, their sides turn a vibrant red to scarlet. Unlike some other salmon species, the inside of their mouths remains white.
